Derrick was born and raised in Harlem, New York by Ellen Williams, a single mother of eight who sacrificed everything for her children. He is a retired combat veteran who has served 23 years in the United States military. (8-years USMC and 15-years Army Reserves) He earned a Master’s in Theological Studies from Faith College in Tacoma WA. He served as an Associate Minister at Graceland Community Baptist Church in Santa Ana CA for 10+ years.
His yearning to understand how the mind works as it relates to self-actualization, as well as his passion for empowering others reach their highest potential, led him to study at Hypnosis Motivation Institute, in Tarzana, CA. where he graduated with Honors as a Certified Master Hypnotherapist.
He currently operates his private practice in downtown, Long Beach CA Where he utilizes his gifts of teaching, storytelling, and humor combined with his education, experience, and expertise to empower clients into achieving their personal goals and creating a brighter future.
He specializes in behavior modification, Smoking cessation, stress reduction and overcoming fears. His motto is “Change Your Thoughts 2 Change Your Life.
